HydroseedingHydroseeding is a method of seeding grass (also known as hydraulic mulch seeding, hydro-mulching, hydraseeding and sometimes called a spray-on lawn). Grass seed is mixed with mulch, water, fertilizer, and is applied to the ground by spraying. Hydroseeding is a fast and cost effective method of seeding a high quality lawn and establishing grass for erosion control, reclamation, and remediation. |

ProcessThe process begins with mixing grass seed in a tank with water, fertilizer, binding agents, and a fibrous mulch made of wood, paper, or straw. These ingredients are blended together with an agitator inside the tank and the resulting slurry has the consistency of wet papier-mâché. In most applications, we include biostimulants, minerals, and other ingredients to condition the soil for better plant growth. The slurry is then pumped through a hose or tower and sprayed onto the surface of the soil. Once applied, it looks like a mat of green carpet. Protected by the fibrous mulch, the grass seed will begin to germinate within a week under ideal growing conditions. |
PricesPrices for hydroseeding may vary due to seed variety chosen, site accessibility, water availability, and special requirements for erosion control. We have a minimum charge of $800 (which would usually cover up to 250m2). In general, however, prices typically range from: |
