Price
Hydroseeding is much less expensive than installing sod and comparable in price to broadcast or drill seeding. The price for hydroseeding typically ranges between $0.80 to $1.50 per square meter depending on size of area and seeding specifications.
Quality
The protection offered by the mulch results in significantly higher germination rates than grass seeded by conventional methods. There is also less chance of erosion or damage caused by wind or scorching sun.
Flexibility
Site-specific and custom seed blends can be used which cannot be done with sod. So, if you need a low-maintenance blend or a naturalization blend or even a golf-green blend, hydroseeding can accommodate those requirements. Hydroseeding can usually be applied to slopes, wet, and rough areas that may be inaccessible by conventional means of seeding or sod.
